Reporting from Bangkok. Flying in, I was amazed. For some reason I had the impression that Asia was all about rural farming. Not so. Bangkok is very much a modern city. The Airport is totally amazing. Apparently it just opened last year. Its beautiful structures are reminiscent of aircraft internal wing design. And so much glass, how can they suspend that much glass with so little structure. Very beautiful
I enjoyed the long walk from the gate to the main building and the gal’s voice announcing the end of the moving walkway. The language is pleasing to listen to, having never heard it before, I’m enjoying every bit of my time so far.
The view from the Conrad is awesome. i took a timelapse of a construction crew building a skyscraper just a few blocks away. At the ground level not too far away is a beautiful 2 story building, lush green area. Also, there’s a school nearby, children playing sports outdoors.
My first meal in Thailand was coconut soup with chicken and a small slice of chocolate cake. All together about $12, with tip. Very very good room service. Comfortable location, in the same plaza as the Bangkok Microsoft building.
